Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP)

The letters CAPP are displayed in white text on a black background.

BHS and both the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Lakeland University have partnered to provide college classes taught by qualified BHS staff for transcripted college credit.  Currently, we offer four classes where students can get high school credit and college credit.*

*To receive college credit, students are expected to pay a portion of the tuition fee.

Understanding CAPP at BHS

  • The following is offered through UW-Oshkosh:
         Advanced Public Speaking
         Broadcasting I
         Filmmaking
         Advanced Filmmaking

  • This is an actual university course you are taking in the high school.  An AP class is a class with a test you take in high school for college credit.

  • Start College Now and Early College Credit are when students take courses off campus at a technical school or university that the school district most often pays for. CAPP courses are taught at BHS during the regular school day by approved BHS teachers that result in an official university transcript from the corresponding university (either Lakeland or UW Oshkosh).   Typically, students are required to pay an additional fee for CAPP credit.

  • $330.00* for a 3 credit course - which is less than ½ the tuition cost of UW system courses  (24-25 pricing)

  • Yes, if you choose not to pay the tuition, you will not be enrolled for college credit, but you may still earn .5 of BHS high school credits

  • Most likely, yes, and at half the cost.  Check with university to be sure.

  • UW-Oshkosh is the host university in partnership with the school district.  Your student is officially enrolled at the university, but taught at the high school by the certified university CAPP instructor (the BHS teacher teaching the class).

  • Order a transcript and present it to the university you are applying to.  This will allow you to register early and allow you to bypass the course at your university that this course was the equivalent to.

  • Download a transcript request form or get one from instructor, $8 fee
